'Tis Not the Season for Bullying
The Holiday Season is traditionally a time of family, friends, love, joy, sharing and good tidings. We celebrate this time of year with gifts and goodwill as many honor and celebrate the birth of Christ Jesus.
Other religions participate in their own holiday traditions. Regardless of our spiritual beliefs, this time of year often brings out the very best in people as they seek ways to bless others. Sadly, for many reasons, it can bring out the worse in others.
Bullying isn’t something that happens only during the holidays, not by any means, but for many kids, stress at home, during the season, and ongoing tormenting by peers at school or online makes this time of year less than fun; for some, all year is a time of pain and heartache.
The Bethany House Program has many families that continue to use our services in the midst of life’s trials and tribulations. The children of the moms we have served over the years frequently end up receiving our support and services for a variety of reasons.
