Loneliness — an emotion that so many women (men, too) spend a lifetime avoiding. No one likes to feel lonely. So often the women who come to Bethany House are not only alone in the world, facing an unplanned pregnancy, but also a majority of them feel lonely. They’re afraid to rely on others for fear of being hurt or rejected — again. Yes, again. Abuse, in all its cruel forms (mental, emotional, physical, and sexual) has touched 90% of young women who enter our program.

That’s why we work so hard to ensure that our residents have an opportunity to experience safe, loving, and trusting relationships in a family-like setting. When Christ walked the earth, he walked along side others. He surrounded himself with His chosen disciples and other supportive friends. He reached out in love to the wounded men and women who crossed his path. Through His power, love, and building positive relationships, he was the greatest Life-Changer the world has known. That’s why we’ve decided to ask you to walk by our side this coming year as a Life- Changer. How do we define Life-Changer in the 21st Century? 1. a strategic partner; 2. one who strengthens a ministry by making a regular investment in Kingdom work; 3. a person who give of themselves to bless others. Things done consistently have great impact. Daily time with God. Weekly family nights. Regular meals. Regular exercise. Even regular deposits to a retirement account have a way of adding up.
